Why Crowdfunding?
There’s been a lot of uncertainty in the board game industry over the past couple of years, and crowdfunding has helped many board game publishers navigate shifting costs in both production and shipping logistics, as well as making informed decisions about print run quantities.
In our first two campaigns, Clank! Legacy 2 and Clank! Catacombs: Underworld, we were able to increase direct outreach to fans, particularly fans outside of the United States, and make games and cosmetics more widely available than we’re able to through normal retail channels. Over time, we’ve continued to learn from the player community and refine our crowdfunding offerings, and we look forward to War of the Dragon becoming another successful campaign bringing a great game to players around the world.
We appreciate your support!

Was War of the Dragon made with AI?
No. War of the Dragon and its art were created by humans.

What are you doing about tariffs?
As with our previous campaigns, we can’t say for sure what the tariff landscape will look like when it’s time to ship, but however it shakes out we’ll absorb it on our end.

Are there any Kickstarter exclusives?
Yes! War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time – The Dragon Reborn edition will be available from your Friendly Local Game Store and our localization partners in 2027.
The One Power™ edition, token pack, playmat and card sleeves will be available from Dire Wolf after the campaign through our webstore and direct sale. We hope to offer a miniatures upgrade pack for to regional customers in the future.
Additionally, there are some exclusives that will not be included outside of this campaign. To start with, the Map of the Westlands Art Print is an exclusive to this campaign, as are the promo cards Bela and Hopper. These may become available in future crowdfunding campaigns for War of the Dragon, but otherwise won’t be available via retail or from DWD after the campaign. There will also be other exclusives offered in the campaign.

Why aren’t Bela and Hopper included in The Last Battle Bundle?
The Bela and Hopper promo cards are a free pre-registration incentive to backers who followed our mailing list ahead of the campaign start, and we didn’t want those backers to have to pay for them again (they will receive one set of the Promos with each copy of War of the Dragon purchased during the campaign and pledge manager). They are the only item in the campaign that’s not included in the The Last Battle Bundle.

Do I have to pay VAT?
Yes. Taxes and VAT (where applicable) will be charged on all orders in Backerkit when your shipping is collected. Tax rates and VAT vary from region to region, but your standard VAT rate is what you can expect to be charged in the post-campaign pledge manager. In the EU and in most cases, shipping will come from within your region.

Can I cancel my pledge?
Pledges may be cancelled at any time before backers are charged at the end of the Kickstarter campaign.
After the Kickstarter closes and you’ve been charged, but before your pledge has shipped, you can email us to cancel your pledge and receive a credit for 70% of its value towards a future Dire Wolf Kickstarter campaign.
If you need help with your pledge, please email us at [email protected].

When will I get my game?
Fulfillment times vary widely, particularly internationally – for backers inside of the United States (where we fulfill games ourselves from our warehouse in Denver), we can generally get everything out the door within a couple of weeks of the containers arriving from the factory. International timelines are often weeks or months longer
As of now, we’re expecting containers to leave the factory before the end of the year, and US fulfillment to happen in the first half of 2027, with games outside of the United States arriving over the next couple of months after that.
We’ll have a clearer timeline once factory production is complete, but we’re expecting everyone to have received their games by the end of 2027, and hopefully sooner.

Can I play War of the Dragon with more than two players?
Yes. War of the Dragon includes a four-player cooperative variant for Hero Mode, where two players take the Light and two take the Shadow. Each team acts together, shares resources, and wins or loses as one — but you can’t show your partner your cards, and all discussions have to be public. It’s designed for the WoT fans who want to bring a friend or family member into the fight for the fate of the world. Four-player is not available in Epic Mode, which remains a two-player experience.

Are there stretch goals in this campaign?
There are no traditional stretch goals for War of the Dragon. Instead, we’ll be releasing three campaign unlocks over the course of the campaign — one per week. Each unlock will add new exclusive content for all backers who pledge at The Dragon Reborn level or above. Stay tuned!

I used my Apple ID (or Apple Private Relay) to pledge. How do I update my email address to make sure I receive my pledge?
If you use Apple Private Relay, an Apple ID, or other anonymized email when you pledge, we will not be able to send you your Backerkit invitation to complete your pledge.
Please change the email address associated with your Kickstarter account to one that can accept email before the campaign ends, so that we can get you access to Backerkit to manage shipping and receive your game. If you have any questions or need help, please drop us a line at [email protected].

Will there be a TTS or TTP build for the game, or a digital version?

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
